One of the few 27-hole golf course in the Veneto region, the Golf Club della Montecchia is located just outside Teolo, a few kilometers from Padua and Abano Terme. Set in the historic park of the prestigious Villa Emo Capodilista, it was founded in 1988 and presents a course of high technical profile, planned by the Irish designer Tom Macauley. The golf links stretches over an area measuring more than 800,000 square meters, marked by a mainly flat ground. Here the nearby Euganean Hills form a peculiar frame as well as a picturesque background . The playing field develops three different paths structured on the basis of a free and modern project, which, however, takes into account the deep relationship with the natural environment and the landscape, in full respect of the Anglo-Saxon golf tradition.
Its clubhouse is particularly well equipped and offers an ample swimming pool. In earlier times the building was used as a tobacco drier, formerly part of the adjacent Renaissance villa of the earls Emo Capodilista: later it was converted into the current imposing edifice. The latest recent improvements of the pitch with implementation of an innovative drainage system, enable to play in any weather and in any season of the year. The trails are very technical, and offer sundry difficulty degrees, also related to the layout of the 5 ponds in the course. Particularly well-known is the 7th hole, representing a challenge even for the most experienced players.
